Kirsty Abrahams has recently released her latest single ‘Our Moment’. The song was never intended to be released, but who better to tell you the story other than Kirsty herself.
“Our moment is a personal song that I never intended to release. I was requested to write this song by my grandparents for their wedding anniversary many years ago. I drew inspiration from a poem my Grandma had written and from parts of their love story. Gifting this song to them was a very special moment for me, however I never imagined anyone else would feel the emotion that inspired this song.
Fast forward to February 2024, I performed Our Moment at a small local gig where some beautiful newly engaged friends approached me and asked if they could use Our Moment as their first dance song.
Little did I know as I agreed that they would be marrying and dancing to the song in the very same venue and on the very same dance floor that I had planned to dance my own first dance back in 2020.
It was a full circle moment of healing for me and I am so very blessed to witness such joy in a place that previously held so much personal pain. Thank you Joel and Amanda for inspiring me to release this song into the wild so that many more people may dance, cry, smile and experience the same joy that this song brings to some of the dearest people in my own world.
